Over sixty thousand people will gather at Black Rock City this week for Burning Man. The theme for this year’s celebration at Burning Man is Radical Ritual. Krista Tippet writes, “We are among the first peoples in human history who do not broadly inherit religious identity as a given, a matter of kin and tribe, like hair color and hometown. But the very fluidity of this—the possibility of choice that arises, the ability to craft and discern one’s own spiritual bearings—is not leading to the decline of spiritual life but its revival.” As thousands search for meaning and the sacred in the desert, we will gather in worship to reflect on the depth and beauty of our ancient tradition’s radical rituals. Join us in worship at 9:30 and 11:00 am to experience the radical ritual of Christian worship.
