Christmas Eve

Linda’s message for our 11:00 pm Candlelight Christmas Eve gathering is rooted in the Christmas story from John’s Gospel. What frame might allow us to see the light coming among us? Linda’s message is woven with selections from our music team’s live rendition of Josh Garrels’ recently released song called The Light Came Down.

See.

Linda’s message is rooted in Matthew 11.2-11. On this third Sunday of Advent, we are called to ask just as John the Baptist did, “Are you the one?”, and seek to see the love of God here and everywhere around us.

Watch.

Linda’s message on this first Sunday of Advent invites us to watch for signs of God’s hope waiting to be born amidst  the uncertainties of life. Worship is rooted in Gregory Porter’s Take Me To The Alley & Matthew 24:36-44.

The Story of Tamar

Linda’s message is rooted in the cry of Tamar and the crime of Amnon from 2 Samuel 13.1-22.  Tamar’s story speaks a truth we are reluctant to hear from beginning to end. May we listen to the stories of sexual assault and may compassion open us the unheard cries of every Tamar. May our response to Tamar’s story, and to every Tamar we meet, be holy and loving and just.

Salt.

Linda’s message, rooted in 2 Timothy 2.8-15, teaches us that time is the most important ingredient towards developing a better life of faith as we watch over others in love and allows ourselves to be watched over in love. It takes time to knead and fold in the salt in our lives to gain a better Christlike character.

No Love Dying

Linda’s message is rooted in 2 Corinthians 5.17. We must find our christian identity in love and turn our fear into hope. God’s love will transform the world into a place where there is justice and equality in which we call Heaven on Earth.

Rich Man & Lazarus

Linda’s message is rooted in the parable of the rich man & Lazarus (Luke 16.19-31). How might this ancient teaching of Jesus challenge us to reach in love in our daily lives?

Laborers in the Vineyard

Linda’s message is rooted in Matthew 20.1-16 and invites us to re-consider the Parable of the Laborers and the Vineyard based on the writing of Amy-Jill Levine.

Mustard Seed

Linda’s message is rooted in Mark 4.30-32. Linda invites reflection on how the Parable of the Mustard Seed might help us to see the seeds of God’s love & justice in our lives today.

Yeast in the Dough

Linda’s message invites reflection on Black Lives Matter and the violence experienced in our nation this week. The message is rooted in Matthew 13.33. How will we receive the leaven handed down to us and knead our lives in God’s rising hope?

Prayer

Linda’s message is rooted in Psalm 92.1-4, 12-15. She discusses prayer, one of the six spiritual disciplines, through the presence of God.

Public Worship

Linda’s message is rooted in Acts 2.1-21. On this Pentecost, she talks about what the gift of The Holy Spirit is and what it means through the 6 historical spiritual disciplines.
