Way of Love

Way of Love

Norman Wirzba, a professor of theology at Duke Divinity School, writes, “Seeing Christianity as a school or laboratory that trains people in the ways of love is the best way to understand the work and mission of the church” (Way of Love: Recovering the Heart of Christianity, 14). This worship series will hold Norman Wirzba’s Way of Love alongside the gospel readings for the global church as we wonder together about the transforming power and possibilities of love.

Way of Love Worship Outline

Norman Wirzba writes, “The fundamental task of Christians is to align their living with the divine love that is always already operative in the world. Without this alignment, One can scarcely claim to know God at all. This is why it makes sense to describe Christianity as an apprenticeship in the learning of and participation in God’s love” (Way of Love, 34).
