The Christ Hymn

Carol Howard Merritt writes,

Philippians 2 reminds us in beautiful poetry that Jesus took the form of a servant. In his humanity and humility, he walked beside us, even to the point of death. Because of this, we know that nothing can separate us from that divine love in Jesus Christ.  Followers of Jesus have often called this selection from Philippians “the Christ hymn,” on the supposition that Paul is quoting at least in part a very early hymn from the worship of the church.

What hymn or song has given you hope and strength?  What hymn or song has guided your feet or calmed your soul?

The last 3 1/2 years have been really hard. “Came to My Rescue” has been a powerful song for me:

My whole life I place in your hands
God of Mercy humbled I bow down in your presence at your throne
I called you answered and you came to my rescue and I
I wanna be where you are
