We continue our worship series called Farm to Table this Sunday with emphasis on growing in faith.  We hope these three weeks will provide a framework for celebrating how far we’ve come and discerning God’s unfolding call for our community’s future.  Worship will be rooted in the Gospel of John chapter 15 and the poetry of Wendell Berry.  Wendell Berry is a Kentucky poet and farmer.

Think of a time when have you been transformed by a meal.

Read John 15.7-11.  Jesus calls his followers to keep his commandments and abide in his love.  As we practice our faith in this way, we find ourselves filled with deep joy, even complete joy.

How has the weekly practice of watching over one another in love in Kitchen Tables helped you to keep Jesus’ commandments and abide in his love?

In our on-going efforts to reach in love as followers of Jesus, we will be collecting food for families with need.  We’re collaborating with a local nonprofit in identifying families with food needs and we’ll collect items in worship on May 13 & 20.

Here is a list of needed items:

  • Boxed Cereal
  • Canned Soup
  • Canned Beans/Vegetables
  • Canned Pasta Sauces
  • Pasta
  • Oatmeal
  • Boxed Pasta or Rice Meals
  • Coffee/Tea
  • Peanut Butter and Jelly

  • Canned Fruit
  • Bottled Water
