We’ll continue our worship series this week called Flour. Salt. Yeast. Water: Beautiful, simple, & inspiring ingredients for making Deep Commitments at The Table. Our final question this week invites sharing about Deep Commitments. Please spend time this week prayerfully preparing to share a bit about how you intend to complete the Deep Commitment this year.
This four-week worship series will invite us to reflect on the simple ingredients that shape our community of faith. We’ll conclude this worship series on October 23 with a celebration of Baptism and the sharing of our Deep Commitments. Here is a link to the online Deep Commitment Card. Encourage your Kitchen Table to submit their Deep Commitments online or share them in worship by placing them in an offering plate between now and October 23.

Ken Forkish’s second cookbook, The Elements of Pizza, shifts our attention from bread dough to pizza dough. Prior to a trip to Italy, Ken mostly prepared the two doughs in the same fashion. In Italy everything changed. What is your favorite style of pizza?
Then, reflect for a moment on your own lives in relationship to the tossing & stretching of pizza dough. In what parts of your life are you being stretched in ways that give life? In what parts of your life are you feeling stretched too thin?
Read 2 Timothy 3.10-4.5.
Paul’s letter expresses how profoundly he has been stretched. This reading closes: “As for you, always be sober, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, carry out your ministry fully.”
Look over the Deep Commitment cards. How might God be calling you to carry out your ministry fully in relationship to your Deep Commitment? How might you stretch in the year ahead?
