Christmas Offering
Our Christmas Offering during this worship seres called Close to Home will support two important ministries in Sacramento. Here is a link to give online.
- Habitat for Humanity Build for Unity: We’ll join over 250 volunteers from other faith communities throughout Sacramento to help build homes, hope, & community during a week-long Build for Unity event January 29 – February 5. Through our financial commitment at Christmas and volunteer hours during the week-long build early in 2022, we will reach in love alongside people from different faith traditions to ensure families have safe and affordable places to call home. #BuildforUnity
- Jesuit Volunteer with Chaplaincy at California State Prison, Sacramento: The Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) is a year-long volunteer program for young adults built on the values of spirituality, simple living, community, and social justice. Our Christmas Offering will help to support a full-time Jesuit Volunteer to work under the supervision of Chaplain Greg Mellor at New Folsom Prison from August, 2022 through July, 2023. The Jesuit Volunteer will live in intentional community with others at the JVC house near Loaves & Fishes and contribute to the growth, transformation, and rehabilitation of persons from various faith traditions who are incarcerated. Our Christmas Offering will be a practical response to Matthew 25.36: “I was… in prison and you visited me.”
