We believe every human being is created and gifted by God; therefore, people of every race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, age and background, ability and disability are invited to be a real part of the church.
We celebrate the gifts of diverse followers of Jesus—lesbian, gay, same gender loving, straight, bisexual, transgender, queer—in every part of our life together, including lay, staff, and pastoral leadership.
While our global denomination, The United Methodist Church, tried to impose limits on the movement of God’s Holy Spirit in the lives of God’s beloved LGBTQIA+ children beginning in 1972, we now celebrate that our global denomination has finally voted to affirm the sacred worth of persons of all gender identities & sexual orientations through legislation passed by our General Conference in 2024. We affirm that God’s Spirit pours out onto all God’s people — All Means All — and stand with the Bishops of the Western Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church in our commitment to being a place of Safe Harbor.
