Look at God! A Three-Week Worship Series Celebrating the Diverse Ways God Shows Up.
- January 12: Marvel (Psalm 29) Rev. Matt Smith
- January 19: Abide (Psalm 36) Rev. Mike Harrell
- January 26: Manifold (Psalm 19) Dr. Larry R. Hygh, Jr.
This worship series is inspired by our community of faith’s Deep Commitments for 2025 and will celebrate the diverse ways God shows up in our lives and the world. A number of people expressed a longing to root their lives in grace by more intentionally deconstructing the toxic images of God which have shaped them. Many in our community are hoping to work this coming year on letting go of harmful images of God while opening up to the new encounters of God they’re experiencing now at The Table. For many, this means unlearning some deeply engrained and often unconscious ways we’ve been enculturated to imagine the Divine. It also often means finding new language to express our evolving faith experiences. Thankfully, the deepest currents in our Christ tradition can guide us and we are not alone in this process. We will hear each Sunday from a different preacher reflecting on their own journey with God and inviting us to do the same.
