A three-week worship series on the Holy Spirit at The Table (May 5, 12, & 19).

The Holy Spirit is “the Breath of God within us,” according to Henri Nouwen. Nouwen writes:

When we speak about the Holy Spirit, we speak about the breath of God, breathing in us. The Greek word for “spirit” is pneuma, which means “breath.” We are seldom aware of our breathing. It is so essential for life that we only think about it when something is wrong with it. The Spirit of God is like our breath. God’s spirit is more intimate to us than we are to ourselves. We might not often be aware of it, but without it we cannot live a “spiritual life.” It is the Holy Spirit of God who prays in us, who offers us the gifts of love, forgiveness, kindness, goodness, gentleness, peace, and joy. It is the Holy Spirit who offers us the life that death cannot destroy. Let us always pray: “Come, Holy Spirit, come.” – Henri Nouwen (from Daily Meditation on May 18, 2014)

Subject: WE ARE SAVED BY FAITH BUT WE ARE JUDGED BY OUR WORKS. To the churches in my area, may God bless you, In the world today we learn of horrible things & we complain helplessly as we pass the messages on. We live in what seems to be a world of doom. So where are the solutions? There are solutions but… are they being intentionally silenced & hidden? Yes, we have solutions, but we have to stop being a ‘consumer only’ nation, waiting for everyone else to jump in to save us. “…that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Churches have been secretly, intentionally & slowly divided to their ruin… can you see it? Then they don’t know what to do so they try to stay safe… we all do. But aren’t we called to train up disciples in all nations? We can’t do this if we are afraid, silent & divided. “For whosoever will save their life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it.” Matthew 16:25. The unity of the church has untapped power in God, but He needs to hear from us… He needs us to be willing. America matters to God…. and it’s not just for us… the whole world depends on what happens to America. So in order to survive we need to unite and be the producers for God and country. It’s easier to save America now than it is to get it back once it’s gone. Think of our children and theirs.
