We transition from Mary to Joseph this week in worship. We move from the lead actor to a supporting actor.  A supporting actor part ranges from bit parts to secondary leads.  Supporting actors must use restraint so as to not upstage the lead.  Supporting roles may still be pivotal, even vital.
