Grief & Hope
Grief is a healthy response to Jesus’ death and a valid way to enter worship on Easter morning. And yet, the women at the empty tomb are given hope amidst their mourning. The other disciples don’t believe the women’s message, but Peter, living in the in-between of grief and hope, runs to the tomb to see for himself. Grieving doesn’t have to make us hopeless. Hope can compel us to take action when we are deep in grief. Worship online…
Intention & Action (Ash Wednesday)
Our Lenten worship series is inspired by A Sanctified Art and called Everything [In] Between. This worship series will be an invitation to navigate the polarities in our lives with more faith, intention, and openness to be transformed. Each weekly sub-theme explores two supposed binaries, like “faith & works” or “rest & growth,” or “grief & hope.” We often consider these ideas to be opposing. However, as we explore these concepts within the scriptures, we find nuance and complexity. We find…

Manifold
This worship series is inspired by our community of faith’s Deep Commitments for 2025 and will celebrate the diverse ways God shows up in our lives and the world. A number of people expressed a longing to root their lives in grace by more intentionally deconstructing the toxic images of God which have shaped them. Many in our community are hoping to work this coming year on letting go of harmful images of God while opening up to the new…

The Couch of Transformation
Worship this Sunday holds the biblical account of transfiguration from Mark 9.2-9 in conversation with the recently released film called Freud’s Last Session. Instead of viewing the film from the posture of feeling compelled to take sides with either Freud or Lewis, we instead invite you to notice Freud’s couch of transformation. Isn’t It Ironic
Matt’s message is rooted in John 4.5-42. In this time of social distancing, may we slow down with Jesus and be drawn by Living Water into ever deeper relationships with one another.
Candlelight Conversation
Linda’s message is rooted in John 3.1-17. What might we learn from slowing down with the nighttime encounter between Jesus and Nicodemus?
