Parable of the Leaven

Linda’s message introduces our new worship series, Give Up Certainty for Lent: Live in the Parables of Jesus. Her message is rooted in the parable of the leaven (Matthew 13).

Race

We continue our worship series on the most controversial social issues of our day with a reflection on race.  Linda’s message is rooted in Matthew 5.38-48 & the United Methodist Social Principles.

Unfinished

We had technical difficulties with this recording.  Apologies for the quality of the sound, but we’re hopeful we’ll have the issue fixed for next Sunday. Thanks for your patience. Linda’s message is rooted in the story of the magi in Matthew 2.1-12 & Leonardo DaVinci’s Adoration of the Magi.  What are our hopes for 2014? What unfinished parts of ourselves might God invite us to celebrate? What unfinished parts of ourselves might need attention in the coming year?

Love

We conclude our worship series, The Advent Way, with reflection on Joseph’s witness of Love.  Linda’s message is rooted in Matthew 1.18-25.

Turn

We continue our worship series, The Advent Way, with reflection on God’s turning to creation and call for creation to turn toward God.  Linda’s message is rooted in Matthew 3.1-3

Luke

Linda’s message is rooted in Luke 19.28-48 & the prophetic witness of Bishop Melvin Talbert.  This is the second week in our three-week journey through the Gospel of Luke.

Baptism

Linda’s message invites reflection on the meaning and significance of baptism as we gathered to celebrate the baptism of 5 people in worship.

Generous Giving

Each week during this series we are inviting reflection on how we might be called to more deeply support the vision and ministry of our church.  We will make our Deep Commitments for the coming year in worship on November 3.  Linda reflects on her own journey with financial giving and tithing in hopes of inviting our community to reflect on our own unique journeys.

Growing in Faith

Linda’s message is rooted in Luke 21.1-4 and invites reflection on how God might be leading us deeper as we grow in faith.
